PROPHAC SARL - Howald

PROPHAC was founded by Mr. Philippe Zirnheld in 1946, in Luxembourg City, to meet the demand from doctors to import specific drugs from Germany and Switzerland. The first representations were Cilag, Agpharm and Sapos. Other representations such as Schwarz Pharma or Dispersa followed.

The firm BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM, is represented since 1948 by PROPHAC in Luxembourg in the pharmaceutical field. Starting in the 1960s, it developed a whole range of devices and reagents and made them available to medical analysis laboratories.

Following rapid business development and diversification of activities, PROPHAC S.à rl moved to premises at 5, Rangwee in Howald in 1968.

It is also on this date that PROPHAC extends its activity to the veterinary field with the representation of VETOQUINOL

laboratories. Fruitful partnership, which is still valid and allows Vétoquinol to have an excellent penetration of the Luxembourg market.

The Diagnostic Department was created in 1969 and Mr. Pierre Kutten took over its management. BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM's diagnostic esparto developed rapidly. After the acquisition in 1998 of BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM by the ROCHE group, PROPHAC consolidated and expanded its areas of activity

Provision to the Medical Corps and their patients of devices allowing the self-monitoring of Diabetes and Coagulation
On the management side, in 1975, Mr Théo Zirnheld took over the reins of the company before handing them over in January 2002 to Mr Philippe Zirnheld, grandson of the founder.

Mr. Pierre Kutten, with his team, successfully developed the Diagnostics department. It was in 2013 that he handed over his responsibility to Mr. Romain Blasius.

In 2015, Mr. Romain Blasius and Mr. Philippe Zirnheld joined forces to lead PROPHAC.

PROPHAC represents pharmaceutical companies in Luxembourg in the field of human medicine, veterinary medicine and medical diagnosis. In 2018, the domain of the wholesaler of veterinary products and medicines was added.

Today, PROPHAC has 34 people to its credit who work for the Luxembourg medical profession.
